Cheyenne & Devin

A Love That Found Me Again

Some engagement sessions are beautiful.

Some are fun.

And then there are the ones that quietly remind you why you picked up a camera in the first place.

Cheyenne and Devin's session was that session for me.

The sun filtered through the trees like it knew exactly where to land. Every laugh came naturally. Every embrace felt effortless. Nothing was forced. Nothing was rushed. We simply wandered through the woods, letting their story unfold one little moment at a time.

They laughed.

They danced.

They stole kisses when they thought nobody was watching.

Their sweet little pug proudly joined in on the celebration, because let's be honest...our four-legged family members deserve their place in the story, too.

One of my favorite parts of engagement sessions is watching couples forget that the camera even exists.

That's exactly what happened here.

Instead of focusing on posing, they focused on each other.

And those are always the photographs that become timeless.

The Little Details...

I always tell my couples...

Your engagement session isn't just about showing off a ring.

It's about documenting this chapter before everything changes.

The season where wedding plans fill your evenings.

Where forever is no longer a dream but a date circled on the calendar.

Where excitement, nerves, anticipation, and joy all live together.

Cheyenne's beautiful ring sparkled in the golden light, but it was the way Devin looked at her that truly stole the show.

Their Love Story...

One of my favorite moments happened without any direction from me.

They rested their foreheads together.

Closed their eyes.

Smiled.

No prompts.

No instructions.

Just two people soaking in the fact that they found one another.

Those are the photographs I chase.

Because years from now, they'll remember exactly how they felt in that moment.

Their Favorite Teammate...

Can we also talk about their adorable pug?

I am always thrilled when couples include their pets.

They aren't "just a dog."

They're family.

Seeing the three of them together instantly made this gallery feel even more personal, and I know someday these images will mean even more.

A Little Kansas City Love...

As the sun began to set, Cheyenne and Devin changed into their Kansas City Chiefs jerseys.

It was such a fun way to end their session because it reflected another piece of who they are together.

That's something I encourage every couple to do.

Bring something that tells your story.

Whether it's your favorite sports team, your motorcycles, hiking boots, coffee mugs, or your family dog...

Those little details are what make your gallery yours.

Rose's Reflection...

Sometimes God places people in our lives exactly when we need them—even if they never realize it.

Cheyenne and Devin probably thought they were simply showing up for their engagement session.

What they didn't know is they were also reminding their photographer why she fell in love with photography in the first place.

For a little while, I had been searching for that creative spark again.

The excitement.

The anticipation before pressing the shutter.

The feeling that photography wasn't just something I did—it was something that lived inside me.

This session brought that back.

It reminded me that photography isn't about perfect poses or perfect sunsets.

It's about preserving love exactly as it exists today before tomorrow quietly changes it.

Every photographer has sessions they'll never forget.

This one will always be one of mine.

Thank you, Cheyenne and Devin, for unknowingly reminding me why I do what I do.

Your love didn't just create beautiful photographs.

It rekindled something inside my heart.

And I'll always be grateful for that.

XOXO — Rose
