A Love Story Just Beginning
Nevaeh & Maddox's High School Sweetheart Session
"Some love stories begin with grand gestures. Others begin in crowded hallways, passing glances between classes, football games under Friday night lights, and finding your favorite person before you've even graduated. Those are the kinds of love stories that remind us how beautifully simple love can be."
There is something incredibly special about photographing young love.
Not because it's perfect.
Not because life has all the answers yet.
But because everything feels so genuine.
Nevaeh and Maddox reminded me exactly why I adore photographing couples. Every smile was effortless. Every laugh was real. Every little glance they shared happened without me asking for it.
They simply enjoyed being together.
As photographers, we can pose people all day long, but we can't manufacture connection.
They brought that all on their own.
A Session Full of Laughter...
One of my favorite things about this session wasn't just how beautiful the sunset was—it was watching these two make each other laugh.
The kind of laugh where you forget there's a camera.
The kind where your shoulders relax.
The kind where you're simply enjoying the moment.
Those are the moments I chase every single session.
From playful piggyback rides...
to walking hand-in-hand through the trees...
to sneaking little forehead touches and kisses between poses...
Every prompt I gave them was met with excitement.
They were up for absolutely anything.
And honestly?
Those are my favorite clients.
Because when you trust me enough to embrace the silly prompts, the movement, and the unexpected ideas... that's when the magic happens.
Young Love Never Goes Out of Style...
There is something timeless about high school sweethearts.
Long before wedding plans...
Before careers...
Before houses and babies...
It's simply two people choosing each other.
Watching Nevaeh and Maddox interact reminded me that love doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful.
Sometimes it's just...
Holding hands.
Laughing over absolutely nothing.
Looking at each other like no one else exists.
Those are the photographs that become priceless years from now.
Golden Hour Did What Golden Hour Does Best...
If you've followed my work for any length of time, you already know...
Golden hour owns a little piece of my heart.
That warm glow wrapping around these two felt almost cinematic.
The light filtering through the trees.
The soft autumn colors beneath their feet.
The dreamy haze that only lasts for a few minutes before sunset.
Everything aligned perfectly.
It created the kind of session that feels less like photographs...
...and more like memories frozen in time.
Trust Makes All the Difference...
One thing I absolutely loved about Nevaeh and Maddox was how willing they were to trust the process.
When I asked them to run...
They ran.
When I asked them to dance...
They danced.
When I said,
"Okay... this next one might feel a little awkward..."
They smiled and said,
"Let's do it!"
That trust allowed us to create images that feel natural instead of forced.
Because the best photos rarely happen when you're standing perfectly still.
They happen in between.
Between the laughter.
Between the kisses.
Between the whispered jokes.
Those tiny moments become the biggest memories.
More Than Just Pretty Pictures...
One day these photographs won't simply remind Nevaeh and Maddox what they looked like.
They'll remind them...
How young they were.
How they laughed.
How they couldn't stop smiling around each other.
How life felt full of possibility.
That's why I love what I do.
Photography preserves more than faces.
It preserves seasons of life we'll never get back.
Rose's Reflection...
Every once in a while, a session reminds me why I picked up a camera in the first place.
Nevaeh and Maddox were one of those sessions.
Their joy was contagious. Their laughter filled the woods, and their love wasn't something they had to perform—it simply existed. Watching them interact reminded me that the most beautiful photographs aren't created because people know how to pose. They're created because people feel safe enough to simply be themselves.
If there's one thing I hope every client takes away from their session with me, it's this...
Don't worry about being perfect.
Come ready to laugh.
Come ready to love.
Come ready to make memories.
I'll take care of the rest.
XOXO — Rose
