2025 Vienna High School Homecoming Dance

"There are school dances and then there are the nights that students will be talking about years from now."


The 2025 Vienna High School Homecoming Dance wasn't just another dance.

For one unforgettable evening, the gym transformed into a concert venue, the dance floor became the front row, and Iron Talon proved that talent, passion, and friendship can create something truly unforgettable.


As both a photographer and a proud mom, this evening was one I'll never forget.

Watching my daughter, Gabrielle, take the stage as Iron Talon's lead singer during her senior year was incredibly special.

This was the band's second year performing publicly, but it was Gabrielle's first—and last—as the voice leading the crowd.



Needless to say…

They absolutely brought the house down.

More Than Just a High School Band...


Every great band is made up of talented musicians.

The best bands are made up of friends who know exactly how to play off one another.


Iron Talon had that chemistry.


Gabrielle commanded the stage as lead vocalist while Bailey's harmonies blended beautifully beside her. Behind them, Luke kept every beat driving forward on drums while Mason anchored the music with steady bass lines. Reed—better known in my eyes as "the shredder"—delivered guitar solos that had students rushing toward the stage, while Sean effortlessly switched between rhythm guitar and keyboard, tying every song together.


Every member had their moment.


But what made Iron Talon so memorable wasn't just individual talent.



It was the way six students became one performance.

A Gym That Felt Like an Arena...



One of my favorite parts of the night wasn't even on stage.

It was watching the crowd.


Students packed the dance floor.

They sang.

They danced.

They jumped.

They cheered after every song.

Some couldn't stop smiling.


Others completely forgot they were at a school dance.

For a little while, Vienna High School didn't feel like a gymnasium.


It felt like a concert you'd expect to see under arena lights.

Those are the moments photographers dream about capturing—not because they're perfectly posed, but because they're completely real.

Photographing Pure Energy...


Concert photography is unlike almost anything else I photograph.

There isn't time to ask someone to smile.

There's no carefully placed lighting.

No posing.

No second chances.


Instead, it's about anticipating the next guitar solo…

Waiting for the drummer to crash into the chorus…

Catching the lead singer's expression just before the crowd erupts…

Or freezing the split second when the entire dance floor is singing together.


Those authentic moments are what tell the story.

And Iron Talon gave me plenty of them.

Rose's Reflection...



As photographers, we often say photographs freeze time.


But I don't think that's entirely true.

Photographs don't stop time—they remind us how it felt.


Years from now, these students won't remember every song on the setlist or every note that was played. What they'll remember is standing shoulder to shoulder with their friends, singing at the top of their lungs, laughing until they couldn't breathe, and realizing they were living one of those moments they'd miss someday.


Getting to photograph that—and getting to watch my own daughter stand center stage doing what she loves—was a gift I'll never take for granted.


Some sessions are about beautiful portraits.

Others are about preserving history.

This night was both.
